Kali Clougherty

Kali Clougherty is a graduate of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Class of 2018. She will be attending Elon University to study Musical Theater this Fall. Kali received a $3,500 scholarship from the Broadway Bound Shining Stars Foundation 2018 Scholarship program.

What is the mission statement of the foundation?
In 2018, the Broadway Bound Shining Stars Foundation was established with the primary intent to fund a scholarship benefitting graduating seniors of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School who plan to pursue a degree in the performing arts. The scholarship’s goal is to encourage students to pursue a higher education in the areas of dance, theatre music or voice.
Who can apply for the scholarship?
Scholarship recipients must be in good standing and graduating from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Recipients must be accepted to a two or four year accredited college or university anywhere in the country with a commitment to the performing arts, specifically dance, theatre, music or voice.
How will I know if I am a recipient?
All Scholarship Applications will be reviewed by the Scholarship Committee. After their review process, scholarship recipients will be selected. Selected students will be notified by the Scholarship Committee.
How can I make a donation to the foundation?

Can donations to the foundation be used as a tax write off?
The foundation is a Florida not-for-profit company, registered with the IRS as a 501©(3) charitable organization. Generally, donations may be tax deductible subject to rules and limitations. Please consult your own tax advisor.
How do you decide the winner of the scholarship(s)?
Recipients must set high standards for themselves, be highly motivated and express a determination to succeed and demonstrate a probability of obtaining their performing arts goals. Preference will be given to students whose GPA is a 2.8 and above. The Committee uses these as a guideline and then evaluates all of the scholarship requirements (essay, recommendation letter, service hours etc).
